Ikea love

I'm a devoted shabby chic/cottage/french country/romantic/vintage/beach decor fan. Not sure what you call my style, maybe romantic french shabby chic country with a vintage beach cottage feel. Anyway, most fans of those styles love slip covered furniture as well. Me included. I love my Ikea couch, love seat, and chair with ottoman. Nothing like whipping the slipcovers off and throwing them in the washerwhich happens often at my house: white furniture with more then one dog in the house! Maybe some day I'll actually get to an Ikea store. That would be Christmas for me!

Post Christmas shopping

To shop or not to shop, that's the question. I don't really need to restock on Christmas stuff for next year but never know what bargains are out there. Here's another Christmas pic to get into the mood for post Christmas shopping. Yes, I know, a second pic of tree but what I'd like you to notice is the hard to see sign near it with the dachshund painted on it. That's our senior editor (and I mean senior, age 14) Krissy, a long-haired dachshund who thinks she's the Princess. The sign reads: "The Princess sleeps here." I'll post a pic if Krissy gives permission for her royal visage to be published.

The birth of ruffled french bloomers!

This is a pre-New Year's resolution I've made. I'm addicted to decorating and vintage style blogs. I've spent hours enjoying the beautiful ideas and photos of other bloggers. I've learned of new items that I truly felt were bargains such as french script lamp shades at Walmart. I've tried and adopted some recipes as family tradiations at holiday time. Now, I'd like to start sharing my ideas, daily life, and travels through decorating with other bloggers.

Here's a little bit about me: I'm a single mom of a 22 year-old daughter and 16 year-old son. I share my home with my son, boyfriend, seven dogs, two cats, and one parrot. Right there should tell ya I'd at least have some funny pet stories!
