I wasn't sure what to post today but I was playing around with the look of my dress form I keep in my living room. She was a steal at $15 at a large flea market near Buffalo, NY. Wonderful place with a mix of true junk treasures and vintage items.
Anyway, at the same flea market I came across this vintage winter cape. My not-top-of-the-line camera just does not' do it justice. It's velvet and actually more a shade of dark turquoise. I have no idea what the fur collar is but it's just a perfect shade of grey for the cape. No idea how old it is but I'm guessing probably 1900-1920's. I paid $4.00 for it! These are the finds that truly make me happy: Unknown stories of the previous owner(s), texture, color, and that vintage/worn look. I know that most of you have the same feelings about treasures each of us has. What are some of your favorite treasures?
